10 - Week Teens Social Skills Group Program (Ages 13 to 17)

Each session includes a check-in, skill introduction, interactive activity, role-play practice, and reflection in a supportive group setting.

Session 1: Group Introduction & Rules

Objective: Build rapport and establish group expectations.

Facilitator Script: Welcome everyone. This is a space to learn and practice social skills safely.

Activity: Create group rules together. Icebreaker game: 'Two Truths and a Lie'.

Session 2: Identifying Emotions

Objective: Increase emotional awareness.

Facilitator Script: Today we will learn how to recognize our feelings and others'.

Activity: Emotion charades and feelings chart discussion.

Session 3: Active Listening

Objective: Improve listening skills.

Facilitator Script: Listening is more than hearing. It involves attention and response.

Activity: Partner storytelling and reflection exercise.

Session 4: Conversations

Objective: Practice starting and maintaining conversations.

Facilitator Script: We will learn how to begin and keep a conversation going.

Activity: Role-play conversation starters.

Objective: Understand nonverbal communication.

Facilitator Script: Social cues help us understand what others are feeling.

Activity: Watch short clips or images and identify emotions.

Objective: Develop coping strategies.

Facilitator Script: Strong feelings are normal, but we can learn to manage them.

Activity: Practice deep breathing and grounding techniques.
